Fire and police responded to a single vehicle accident on the McKay Highway, westbound close to the Fox Farm Road exit on Sunday evening. The driver lost control and rolled the car, landing in the ditch. He was taken to the hospital with non life threatning injuries. Police say drugs and/or alcohol may have been a factor, and the accident is under investigation.

President Verner, Vice-Presidents Barrett and Codling and Treasurer Macleod joined other New Brunswick Firefighters in Fredericton on Dec 18, 2009 and witnessed the Provincial Government giving Royal Assent on a Bill introduced by Firefighters. This was one of two huge successes for New Brunswick Firefighters coming on the heels of Presumptive Cancer Legislation earlier this year. This particular piece of Legislation waives the three day waiting period for firefighters and Police should they make application to Workers Compensation. Way to go New Brunswick Firefighters keep the Political Action Arena alive and well

| KFU Receives Endorsement for Entry Into KV Chamber of Commerce |

President Reg Verner received word late last week that our application for the Chamber of Commerce underwent a second and final ratification vote with great success. In an unprecedented move, The Kennebecasis Firefighters Union becomes the first trade union to be inducted into membership to the Chamber of Commerce. Although it was not a unanimous vote it certainly was a clear majority.
